February 20 2024
Vancouver (BC), Toronto (ON), and Montreal (QC) - February 20, 2024 – adMare BioInnovations (adMare) is delighted to open applications for the Spring 2024 cohort of the adMare Academy BioInnovation Scientist Program (BIS): Foundations. Alongside the Foundations program, adMare is proud to launch and open applications for our new training offering, the BIS Program: Industry Essentials.
“We are delighted to build off the continued success of the BIS Program: Foundations with the launch of our newly developed program, creating more opportunities for individuals to learn about therapeutics development and commercialization,” commented Dr. Ann Meyer, Director, BIS Program. “By broadening our range of offerings, we aim to better support individuals starting their careers in the Canadian life sciences industry, whether they are pursuing roles inside or outside of R&D. In doing so, we are further serving our purpose of increasing innovation to build a sustainable life sciences industry in Canada.”
The BIS Program: Foundations is an 8-week virtual, cohort-based program that provides early-career scientists with an overview of the full therapeutics discovery and development process, along with insights into the commercial realities and challenges of developing successful therapeutic products. Participants engage in learning consolidation activities, join live discussions with industry experts, and have the opportunity to build nationwide peer networks. This program saw significant success in the first two cohorts, training a combined total of 121 learners. The BIS Program: Foundations is intended for individuals with at least a B.Sc. or equivalent degree interested in roles in R&D and innovation. Applications must be submitted before the end of the day Wednesday, March 20, using this link.
The BIS Program: Industry Essentials is a shorter version of the Foundations program, without some of the R&D-focused curriculum. The program is designed for post-secondary students and early-career life sciences professionals without a science background who want to deepen their understanding of the biopharma industry, therapeutics development, and commercialization. This 4-week virtual, cohort-based program combines video content with an integrated activity that allows learners to apply their knowledge to a decision-making scenario inspired by a real-world example. Participants also have the opportunity to participate in a webinar with an industry expert. Applications must be submitted before the end of the day Wednesday, April 24, using this link.
The adMare Academy is committed to actioning the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility and creating learning spaces that include and welcome the whole diversity in Canada.
