Program overview
The Executive Institute is a compact, annual, cohort-based program for senior executives and emerging C-suite leaders in Canada’s life sciences sector.
Program objectives
The Executive Institute accelerates personal leadership growth, strengthens organizational impact, and facilitates the development of a cross-Canada industry peer network supporting ongoing connection and continued growth.
Learning outcomes include:
- Increased self-awareness and leadership effectiveness.
- Strengthened ability to balance strategic and operational tensions.
- Strategies to break down silos and lead across boundaries.
- Enhanced ability to provide and solicit honest feedback.
- Practical techniques to drive successful change.
- Long-lasting relationships and networks with leaders in the Canadian life sciences ecosystem that last beyond the formal learning experience.
Program design
- A blended learning journey combines multi-day in-person workshops, virtual peer sessions, individual executive coaching, short online modules/assessments and hands-on application to a real Key Leadership Challenge, ensuring immediate relevance and business impact.
- Four curated networking opportunities with industry leaders and Executive Institute alumni to build new connections, deepen relationships, and strengthen networks across the Canadian life sciences ecosystem.
- Several key industry event participation opportunities through partnerships with national and provincial life sciences organizations.
- Cohorts of approximately 20 leaders are intentionally diverse by geography, company size, sector, and equity-deserving representation.

ASCEND bridges the gap between academic research and commercial application in Canada’s life sciences industry by matching Postdoctoral Fellows with biotech companies looking to accelerate scientific and commercialization milestones.

Program overview
ASCEND offers Postdoctoral Fellows (PDFs) a unique opportunity to apply their academic research experience in a real-world commercial environment and build the foundation for a long-term career in industry. Canadian life science companies gain access to the latest scientific expertise and benefit from a cost-effective way to accelerate commercial research and development milestones.

- Translate academic research expertise into commercial impact and long-term careers in Canada’s life sciences industry
- Cultivate the next generation of life science company builders by equipping PDFs with valuable hands-on commercial experience alongside a curated collaborative learning, networking and career development program
- Help Canadian life sciences companies advance scientific and commercialization milestones
Program design
This is currently a pilot program available to select emerging Canadian life sciences companies.
adMare provides:
- Funding covering up to 50% of total compensation costs for hiring a PDF.
- Recruitment and onboarding support.
- A curated leadership and professional development program to complement on-the-job experience.
Company provides:
- Funding to cover the remaining compensation costs.
- Value-driven research experiential learning opportunities.
- Career development feedback.
Ecosystem impact
The 2026/27 ASCEND (pilot) cohort is introducing 13 PDFs across six companies, providing PDFs with real-world experience and leadership development to kick-start long-lasting impact in Canada’s life science industry.
By directly contributing to the generation of key scientific data for participating companies, PDFs will help firms build company value, attract follow-on financing and bring life-changing therapies closer to the people that need them.

The BioInnovation Scientist (BIS) Program equips early-career professionals with essential knowledge and practical skills to make an impact in Canada’s life sciences industry.
Program overview
Created by adMare to support its mission of building strong, investable life sciences companies in Canada, the BioInnovation Scientist (BIS) Program equips early-career professionals – from both scientific and non-scientific backgrounds – with practical knowledge of the drug discovery and development process to better support biopharma R&D and commercialization.
Now delivered by adMare partner, the Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL), BIS continues to strengthen Canada’s life sciences ecosystem, building a skilled talent pipeline that drives innovation and company growth.

Program overview
The Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL) delivers world-class technical skills development and training to develop highly qualified biomanufacturing talent to support Canada’s growing life sciences sector.
CASTL is the exclusive provider of the National Institute of Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) licensed training programs in Canada. NIBRT’s curriculum is recognized world-wide as the gold standard for bioprocessing industry training.
As the lead national partner, adMare supports CASTL to deliver a range of training programs designed to improve real life performance in the workplace.
